Why I Do What I Do
If you had asked me years ago what I wanted to do with my career, my answer would have been simple:
I wanted to help people.
That's what led me to become a Physician Assistant.
Today, I have the privilege of caring for patients every day—helping them recover from injuries, prepare for surgery, relieve pain, and get back to doing the things they love. It is a career I genuinely love.
But over the years, I started noticing something.
Whether I was caring for women struggling with fatigue and weight gain or patients preparing for orthopedic surgery, the problem often wasn't a lack of motivation.
It was a lack of understanding.
People were doing their best with the information they had, yet many had never been taught the basics of how nutrition, movement, sleep, muscle, hormones, and everyday habits influence their health and recovery.
They didn't need more guilt.
They didn't need another fad diet.
They didn't need more conflicting advice from the internet.
They needed someone to simplify the science, explain the "why," and give them a practical plan they could actually follow.
Then I became a mom.
Like so many people, I experienced firsthand how quickly life becomes busy. Between work, family, and trying to care for everyone else, it became clear that good health isn't built through perfection—it's built through simple habits repeated consistently over time.
That season changed how I viewed healthcare.
I realized that some of the greatest opportunities to improve health don't happen inside an exam room. They happen in the choices we make every day: the meals we eat, the strength we build, the sleep we prioritize, and the knowledge that helps us make confident decisions.
That's why I created Intentional Wellness.
Whether I'm helping a woman navigate hormonal changes or guiding someone through surgery and recovery, my mission is the same:
To make health feel understandable.
Because when people understand their bodies, they stop feeling overwhelmed.
They make better decisions.
They feel more confident.
And they begin building habits that last far beyond a doctor's visit or a coaching program.
I believe education is one of the most powerful forms of healthcare.
If I can help someone replace confusion with confidence and give them the tools to improve their health for years to come, then I'm doing exactly what I set out to do all those years ago:
Helping people.
